Community Orchard

The Community Orchard lies in a surprisingly quiet corner, beyond the allotments behind the Village Shop. There is a mixture of eating, cider, and cooking apples. We will also be planting a pear, hazel and quince in the 22/23 season.

The fruit can be picked by anyone for their own use, and/or pressed for juice at the Annual Community Apple Pressing at the Village Shop. For the best taste, check the fruit is completely ripe by gently twisting the apple half way round.  If it’s ready it will fall into your hand.

There are a few chairs and tables for sitting out, eating a picnic, drawing, painting or just watching the insects and flowers.  Come on down and enjoy this little orchard and its wildlife.
